Book Review for "Reckless"

Author: Cornelia Funke
Reckless is a book full of mystery, terror, and twisted romance...
It all starts when Jacob Reckless finds and enchanted mirror in his fathers abandoned study.  He travels to a land called Mirrorworld, where mysterious, dangerous, and terrifying creatures, dwell.  His brother, Will, follows him and and gets bit by a Goyl, a rock human type thing, that will turn him into the raging creature itself.  The girl he loves will have her heart broken, if he isn't cured, and if that's not enough and doesn't lose his mind first, will Jacob fall for her and her for him?   Jacob feels that it is his fault and that he should try and find the cure to the painful transformation that is taking over his brother.  They travel far and wide all over the treacherous country.  When they discover that they have to take down the most powerful person in the kingdom, and they need to get help from the two most devious, things get tricky and sticky.  What I like about this story is that it combines a couple of famous fairy tales and gives reference to them.  There are many others characters involved but it would take forever to tell you all of them.  Some of the characters involve faeries, drawfs, thumblings barkbiters, and even witches.  Unfortunately, even though the story is very good, there are a lot of things that I don't like, the unfinished elements and questioning aspects.  It left me hanging so I hope the author will write another book.  Overall, it was a good story but I felt that it could be even better!
